Robert Candy, Chief Executive of the Scaffolding Association, is urging members to take full advantage of the Skills Bootcamps for Scaffolding Training—a government-backed initiative offering 70-100% funding for scaffolding qualifications.
Launched during National Scaffolding Week 2024, these bootcamps, in partnership with City & Guilds Training, aim to upskill workers and help bridge the skills gap in the growing scaffolding sector. The programme offers funding for CISRS Part 1, Part 2, and Advanced courses, with the option to book NVQs and Skills Assessments separately.
“The Skills Bootcamps are an incredible opportunity for scaffolding businesses to invest in their workforce,” said Robert Candy. “These courses are designed to equip individuals with the skills they need to succeed in this vital industry. With National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) coming up in a few weeks, now is the perfect time for businesses to explore this funding and commit to investing in their teams’ future. Spaces are filling up fast, so I encourage all our members to act quickly to secure their place and benefit from this valuable funding support.”
The scaffolding sector, worth £2.86bn to the UK economy, plays a crucial role in the country’s infrastructure. By supporting both CITB and non-CITB registered companies, this initiative ensures that businesses, regardless of their registration, can access the training needed to upskill their workforce and meet the demands of the sector.
As part of the Lifetime Skills Guarantee, these bootcamps provide flexible, high-quality training options for individuals aged 19 and over, giving them the chance to gain sector-specific skills and qualifications while earning a salary.
Spaces are limited, so businesses are urged to act quickly to secure their spot in the programme and take full advantage of this opportunity.
